Indigenous Qantas 737-800 Aeroplane

I had the pleasure of creating the stunning 'Mendoowoorrji' - a 737-800 aircraft that proudly joined Qantas' flying art series, inspired by the exceptional late West Australian Aboriginal painter Paddy Bedford.

My mission was to develop a new livery design for the aircraft, collaborating with Qantas, the Bedford Trust, and the National Gallery of Australia to ensure the fuselage design stayed true to Bedford's artwork. I oversaw the production of the design at Boeing's Seattle headquarters, utilizing over 950 man-hours and 500 liters of paint to achieve the desired authentic effect.

I am thrilled to have made history as the first person to change Qantas' iconic tail in 93 years, complementing my design and showcasing Qantas' commitment to innovation and excellence. The project was a groundbreaking union of art and engineering, and I am proud to have created an aircraft that truly stands out as a work of art and the test of time.
